Extimité

Extimité: This intriguing neologism was coined by French psychanalyst Jacques Lacan in 1969 to designate the part of our intimacy that we willingly share with the outside world. First used to describe the booming phenomenon of TV reality, the concept was expanded in the context of this exhibition to investigate the complex triangulation between privacy, public identity and voyeurism.

Seven Swiss artists were commissioned to respond to this theme with new works in the medium of their choice.

Featured artists: Rebecca Bowring, Maxime Chapat, Maëlle Gross, Léonor Tanquerel, Romain Graf, Max-Douglas Idje and Michel Pernet

Produced and curated by Margot Mottaz and Camilla Jacquemoud
